Warning: I am a Twitter newbie

I recently signed up for a Twitter account.  I’m a little skeptical about allowing yet more chatter to compete for my attention.  I’ve been taking a very cautious approach to it by keeping “work” and “productivity” in mind when deciding who to follow or when to “tweet.”  So far, I’m following various tech nerds, such as web developers, and some organizer types – so I can see how they approach this whole Twitter thing.

Here is a guide and glossary for folks just starting out (or thinking about it).

I’ve already cut back on the number of people I follow – primarily those who are too prolific for my taste, especially those who approach it like Facebook’s status updates – really, I don’t want to know what you’ve had for breakfast.  What has interested me the most so far are links to resources – blogs I wouldn’t have found otherwise, tech tips, news clippings, etc…

If you’re interested, you can find me on Twitter – @dposorio – or http://twitter.com/dposorio for those of you who don’t want to register just yet.
