There are a lot of different reasons why you may want to start a poll (or survey) from the trivial (who is the best James Bond?) to serious (what are your experiences with your health insurer?). Want to collect data for your research? Engage members? Read on.
SurveyMonkey and PollDaddy both offer free and paid accounts. I recommend checking out their pricing comparison charts to determine which might be best for you and your organization. At the time of this post, they seem to offer very similar services. I’m not sure which is better than the other – wait – maybe I’ll create a poll!
You can get responses by sending out a link: email, a link on your website, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc…
I have used SurveyMonkey with a paid account through work. I was impressed by their “skip logic” options – ex: if you answer no, you skip irrelevant questions.
Do you have experience with either? A different service? How have surveys or polls worked for your organization?
