Last week, I joined African Communities Together, New York Immigration Coalition, and other groups in a march and rally in honor of World Refugee Day. We assembled in Bryant Park, marched to the United States Mission to the United Nations, and held a rally at nearby Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza right across the street from the Trump World Tower.
Earlier today I attended a rally in NYC‘s Times Square in support of #Fightfor15. After a few hours, we marched to the Grand Hyatt Hotel by Grand Central Station to protest Donald Trump who was attending a New York State Republican gala.
Here are some of the photos I took.
Earlier this past Spring, I stumbled across a gallery of street art that seemingly popped up overnight. It occupied a boarded-over vacant lot that had previously been something of an eyesore. Suddenly, here was a place for local artists to display their work. It was titled it the “Guerrilla Gallery.”
As the spring ended and the summer progressed, artists continued to contribute more of their work. As a couple of these photos illustrate, this gallery was organized by the Harlem Art Collective.
